PAF gets new Mirage fighter squadron

Islamabad, Apr 20: A new Tactical Attack Fighter Squadron, withmodernised Mirages specialised in night attack role, was added to thePakistan Air Force today.

''The specialist night strike role of the Squadron directlyaugments Pakistan's war potential, as night fighting capability becomesan indispensable element in present day air warfare,'' a PAF statementquoted Air Chief Tanvir Mehmud Ahmad as saying.

The Squadron 'Zarrars', is named after Zarrar bin Al Azwar, thefavourite lieutenant of renowned Warrior Khalid bin Walid, a companionof the Prophet Muhammad, said a statement released here today.
