Official thrashes ryot, misbehaves with cops

Vidisha, MP, Apr 20 (UNI) The District Telecommunications Manager allegedly misbehaved with police after assaulting a farmer today, police said.

Bajrang Dal District General Secretary Soham Pathak and Bharatiya Janshakti Yuva Morcha President Rajesh Rai led workers and peasants who blocked a road in front of the Kotwali and staged a demonstration demanding action against Manager Imtiaz Ahmad.

''This morning, I was returning by tractor after selling crop at the market. In front of the Kanch temple, some persons -- including Mr Ahmad -- came in a car, beat me up and forced me to accompany them,'' said Sangayi village's cultivator Chandrashekhar Gurjar.

On the other hand, Mr Ahmed said that the tractor rammed the car and that was why they took Gurjar to a police station. Mr Ahmed reportedly misbehaved with police while trying to have a complaint lodged against the ryot.

''The incidents are being probed,'' said Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar.
