Naxal killed in AP encounter

Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 20 (UNI) A naxal belonging to the banned Prajapaprthighatana was killed in a police encounter near Devagiri Village of Mulugu Mandal of the district today.

Police said acting on a tip-off, a special police team were combing the village to capture the naxals, who had been reportedly staying there for the last two days.

Two naxals opened fire on the police, forcing them to return fire. In the encounter, District Action Committee Commander G Laxminarayana was killed.

However, the other managed to escape. Police seized a weapon from the scene of the encounter.
