Modi visits Hiroshima
Gandhinagar, Apr 20 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi visited Hiroshima today on the sixth day of his visit to Japan.
Mr Modi visited Peace Memorial, built in the memory of the victims of atomic bomb, which was dropped by United Stated on August 6, 1945.
Paying tribute to the victims, Mr Modi said ''Mahatma Gandhi, the apostle of peace, whose birthplace is Gujarat, becomes the connecting link between Gujarat and Japan.'' In his meeting with Hiroshima Governor, Mr Modi made a presentation of CD featuring development of Gujarat, an official release said.
The Governor was all praise for the way Gujarat has made progress after the 2001 earthquake.
Accepting Mr Modi's invitation, the Governor said a delegation would visit Gujarat next year, the release added.
