Model attempts suicide outside Amitabh Bachchan's bungalow

Mumbai, Apr 20 (UNI) Hours ahead of Bollywood's celebrity Abhiash wedding, upcoming model and actor Jhanhvi Kapoor made an abortive attempt to commit suicide last night in front of Amitabh Bachchan's bungalow 'Pratiksha', alleging that Abhishek had an affair with her and had backtracked from marriage.

She was arrested by the Juhu police on charges of attempt to commit suicide this morning and will be produced before a local court later.

''Abhishek is not talking to me. I want to meet him and have a word with him to settle the matter.....,'' said Kapoor, who slit her wrist last night.

Talking to reporters, she accused Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh of misguiding Bachchan Jr about their affair.

She alleged that Mr Singh had threatened her over the phone, saying ''Abhi-Ash ke bich me Aogi toh, you will get killed.'' She said the SP leader had even damaged her vehicle in the past over the same matter. However, she said, ''I didn't lodge a complaint fearing controversy''.

When queried about her past, Kapoor said, ''I lost my father when I was one-year-old and my mother remarried''.

Denying charges that she was married in the past and a divorcee now, Kapoor challenged mediapersons to prove that she was married to anybody. In fact, ''I am looking for a good person with whom I can marry and settle down'', she added.

When further probed over her relationship with Abishek, she said 'We used to meet at Juhu on the western suburbs near 'Greenfield' building.

She also said Abhishek had promised to disclose their affair to his parents after he won the Filmfare award.

In Srinagar, the mother of model-turned-actor Naina alias Jhanhvi Kapoor claimed that Abhishek Bachchan had an ''affair'' with her daughter.

Dr Shaheena Aga alleged that Abhishek Bachchan had ''ditched'' her daughter, and also disputed claims that the starlet had a ten-year-old son from her first marriage.
