Model arrested on charges of attempting suicide

Mumbai, Apr 20 (UNI) Upcoming Model and actor Jhanhvi Kapoor, who made a failed attempt to commit suicide last night in front of Amitabh Bachchan's bungalow 'Pratiksha', was arrested by the city police on charges of attempt to commit suicide this morning.

Kapoor, who reached the venue, slit her wrist last night alleging that Abhishek had an affair with her and had now backtracked from marrying her.

''Abhishek is not talking to me. I want to meet him and have a word with him to settle the matter.....,'' she said.

Meanwhile the Juhu police have arrested her for attempting suicide. She will be produced before a local court later in the day.

Earlier, in an interview to reporters, she accused Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh of misguiding Bachchan Jr about their affair.

She alleged that Mr Singh had threatened her over the phone, saying ''Abhi-Ash ke bich me Aogi toh, you will get killed.'' She said the SP leader had even damaged her vehicle in the past over the same matter. However, she said, ''I didn't lodge a complaint fearing controversy''.

When quipped about her past, Kapoor said, ''I lost my father when I was one-year-old and my mother remarried''.

Denying charges that she was married in the past and a divorcee now, Kapoor challenged mediapersons to prove that she was married to anybody. In fact, ''I am looking for a good person with whom I can marry and settle down'', she added.

When further probed over her relationship with Abishek, she said 'We used to meet at Juhu on the western suburbs near 'Greenfield' building.

She also said Abhishek had promised to disclose their affair to his parents after he won a Filamfare award.
