Man to be hanged for triple murder

Jind, Apr 20 (UNI) A lower court has awarded death sentence to a man for a triple murder committed at Budayan village in this district two years ago.

The Additional District and Sessions judge J S Jangda here yesterday awarded the capital punishment to the accused Randhir alias Dheera for brutally killing a relative's wife and two children with an axe on July 15, 2005, while they were asleep.

Old enmity over the relative Veda's alleged relationship with Dheera's wife was cited as the motive for the crime.

Veda had escaped the attack on the fateful night as he was away on some errand. His another son Jasweer was grievously injured in the attack and was still under treatment in Rohtak medical college.

The court had declared Randhir guilty of the triple murder on Tuesday last.
