Bangalore, Apr 20 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party Karnataka unit President D V Sadananda Gowda today said he has summoned the party's Honnali Legislator Renukacharya to the party office here tomorrow to ascertain the truth about complaints that he had sexually harassed and threatened a nurse, now recuperating in a private nursing home after making a vain bid to end her life a few days ago.

Speaking to UNI from Mandya, he denied reports in a section of the media that Mr Renukacharya had resigned his membership to the Assembly. ''I have not received any resignation from him so far. In fact I have called him to the party office tomorrow morning to find out the truth and will then decide the party's stand,'' he added.

Media reports said Mr Renukacharya had tendered his resignation to Mr Gowda and Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa following a suicide note written by the nurse, accusing the Legislator. Police had admitted her to a private nursing home recently after seeing her in an unconscious state in a car parking. She had said in the note, now in police possession, that she had tried to prevail upon Mr Gowda and Mr Yediyurappa about the harassment meted out to her by the Legislator and when both chose to remain silent, she had attempted suicide.
