Kochi private flying academy kicks off
Kochi, Apr 20 (UNI) Cochin Flight Academy (CFA), the first-ever private flying academy in Kerala imparting state-of-the-art training to groom commercial pilots, has become operational here.
Speaking to mediapersons here today, CFA Managing Director Suraj Jose said the academy with its structured ground school, modern aircraft and advanced training techniques would impart superlative training to students.
Captain Jose said the academy had signed a deal with US-based Epic Aviation for the delivery of five Cessna 172 aircraft at a cost of Rs one crore per aircraft.
The academy had the approval of the Union Aviation Ministry to operate non-schedule flight service for training purpose, he added.
The ground school was equipped with latest audio-visual instructional aids, global poistioning system simulators, radio simulators and advanced aircraft training devices.
The academy in association with various individuals and organisations in aviation industry has developed and published training manuals for students, Captain Jose said.
He said the one-year course would cost Rs 20 lakh and the frist batch would have 20 students.
The trainees have to pass the examination conducted by the Aviation Ministry to qualify as a commercial pilot.
