Four family member hacked to death

Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, Apr 20 (UNI) Four members of a family were murdered by unidentified assailants in their home under Kalakad Police Limits of the district late last night, police today said.

Watchman Jayakumar (39) and three other members of his family were found dead this morning by neighbours who informed the police, they said.

The other victims were Jayakumar's wife Shamughathai (37) and their two daughters, Indira (10) and Chithra (8). The bodies have been taken to the Government Hospital at Nanguneri for post-mortem.

Police said investigations were on to nab the culprits and ascertain the reason for the crime.
