Forum to launch RTI campaign on May 16 in AP

Hyderabad, Apr 20 (UNI) The Forum for Right To Information would organise an awareness campaign from May 16 to May 20 at all government officies in Andhra Pradesh, its State Coordinator N Nagendra Babu said today.

Addressing the press here, Mr Babu said the objective of the campaign was to educate people on the importance of RTI Act in the society as the state had received only 9,000 applications under the law since its enactment.

As part of the campign, the Forum would also organise training programme for Civil Society Organisation (CSO) activists from today to May 12 at district level to make the RTI campaign a success.

Appealing to all the CSOs and public authorities to actively participate in the campaign, Mr Babu said more than 50 CSOs would take part.
