Family murder case: One surrenders before court

Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, Apr 20 (UNI) One person surrendered before the Madurai Court this evening in a case related to the murder of four members of a family at adjoining forest area under Kalakad Police Limits of this district past midnight yesterday.

Police said the Magistarte remanded the surrendered M Katturaja (27) to police custody and ordered to produce him before the Nanguneri court on April 25.

Though no exact reason had been ascertained for the murder, land dispute was said to be the cause for the animosity, police said.

A watchman Jayakumar (39) and three other members of his family were found dead this morning by the neighbours.

The other victims were Jayakumar's wife Shamughathai (37) and their two daughters, Indira (10) and Chithra (8).
