Delhi Police Constable, deployed at Rashtrapati Bhawan, hangs self

New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) A Delhi Police Constable, deployed at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, allegedly committed suicide at his Azadpur residence in North-West Delhi.

Shankar Lal Meena (38), who joined the Delhi Police in 1990, allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling soon after returning home from duty at about 1330 hrs, said sources.

No suicide note has been found though sources said he was tense ove a departmental inquiry against him for reportedly going on leave without permission.

Shankar Lal, who had three children -- two daughters and a son -- lived in Azadpur village and had returned from his 2300-0800 hrs night shift when he bolted the room and hanged himself with a scarf.
