Commerce Ministry clears deck for Ahmedabad Apparel Park

Ahmedabad, Apr 20 (UNI) The Union Ministry of Commerce has notified to the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) that it has cleared the deck for the Ahmedabad Apparel Park.

The notification in this regard was published last week, GIDC sources said here today.

The Park would be set up under Special Economic Zone (SEZ) on 38 hectares of area.

It may attract total investment of Rs 230 crore and total 53 garment and textile companies have evinced interest. Total exports from the Park are likely to touch Rs 4,000 crore.

The land for the project was obtained by the GIDC from Ambika Mills, Bharat Suroyodaya Mills, Sarangpur Cotton Mills and Silver Cotton Mills and has already provided state-of-the-art infrastructre, GIDC sources added.
