CII to set up emergency disaster mgt programme in Pondy

Puducherry, Apr 20 (UNI) The confederation of Indian Industry (CII) would concentrate on setting up an emergency disaster management programme in the union territory.

According to a press release here today, the CII had already been holding talks with the Emergency Management Research Institute at Hyderbad for partnership and would soon present to the government a "Vision 2020" document to highlight the potential for economic growth in the union territory.

It would showcase some of the sucess stories it achieved in other areas to promote them in Puducherry.

The CII would also focus on generation of high level skills and is scheduled to cover 10,000 youths under augmentation of skills programme.

A CII delegation led by Mr P K Mohapatra, Chairman CII Southern Region, held discussions with Chief Minister N Rangasamy yesterday.
