CDPO arrested for taking bribe

Chatra, Apr 20 (UNI) Vigilance sleuths today arrested a Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) from Jharkhand's Chatra district when she was taking a bribe of Rs 15,000.

Besides, Rs 12,42,000 were recovered from the bed room of CDPO Shila Kumari, posted at the Itkhori block in this district, official sources here said.

The bureau had laid the trap on Ms Kumari following a complaint made by one Anupma Devi, who alleged that she was asked to pay Rs 15,000 to the CDPO against her appointment as an assistant.

The CDPO hailed from Bihar's Rohtas district.
