Case files againsr PS for corruption charges

Agartala, apr 20 (UNI) A case has been filed against a Panchayat Secretary at Kumarghat police station in Tripura's North district for his alleged misappropriation of official fund more than Rs three lakh.

According to sources here today, Panchayat Secretary of Ganganagar allegedly misappropriated Rs 3,56,500 and this was came to light after a divisional investigation by panchayat officer recently. Panchayat officer Debasish Dutta reported this to the Block Development Officer who filed a case against the accused panchayat Secretary Ramendra Deb.

The panchayat secretary failed to give any positive reply about the government fund allocated for various developmental works in the panchayat, and the BDO filed a case against him.

The allocated fund was for renovation of roads, construction of Anganwadi centres kitchen shed, among others, sources added.
