BJP to launch movements for bifurcation of state
Hyderabad, Apr 20 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh BJP today decided to launch movements both in Telangana and Andhra for bifurcation of the state.
Briefing newspersons on the ongoing state office-bearers meeting here, party General Secretary S Veeraraju said a three-member Committee had been constituted to spearhead movement for separating Andhra state.
''There is a feeling of neglect among the people of both the Telangana and Andhra regions and it is better if separate states are formed for the independent development of both the regions''.
A massive meeting would be organised either at Rajahmundry or at Guntur on May 12 to create awareness amongst the people on the need for creation of Andhra state. Meetings would be organised in all the districts from August 13 till end of the month, added veeraraju.
Asserting that the BJP supported smaller states for administrative convenience, BJP General Secretary K Laxman said the party would press for the creation of separate Telangana well before the next Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
