Chandigarh, Apr 20 (UNI) As many as ten Congress leaders in Haryana, including former state minister, an ex-MP and three ex-MLAs, resigned from the party to support disgruntled leader Bhajan Lal.

Former state minister Devender Sharma resigned from the primary membership of the Congress in protest against the ''humiliation'' of Mr Bhajan Lal, a report from Kurukshetra said.

In his resignation letter, Mr Devender Sharma said octogenarian Congress leaders like Bhajan Lal were being subjected to humiliation by petty congress leaders.

''Under these circumstances, it has become very difficult to remain with those who are ignoring the interests of the Congress party workers as well as citizens of Haryana,'' he said in a letter to AICC General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi, incharge of Haryana affairs.

Ex-MP Jangvir Singh and two former MLAs Ganpat Rai and Dharam Pal Sangwan also resigned from the party, a report from Bhiwani said.

Former MLA Maniram Keherwal also sent his resignation to state Congress working president Ram Prakash, a report from Sirsa said.

Others who resigned from the party included Hisar district (rural) treasurer Banwari Lal Lamba and former working president Ramesh Godara, senior leader Randhir Singh Panihar and Youth Congress leader Vikas Bishnoi and former Bhiwani district president (Urban) M L Sharma.
