Basaralu records heavy rainfall of 7 cms.

Bangalore, Apr 20 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today. Rainfall occurred at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over Coastal Karnataka.

Basaralu recorded heavy rainfall of 7 cms.

Chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Raichur, Yelahanka Airforce 6 each, Jayapura, Malur 4 each, Bangalore City, Bangalore Airport, Anekal, Balehonnur 3 each, Belgaum, Gadag, Indi, Thirthahalli, Chintamani 2 each, Sambre, Agumbe, Chitradurga, T.G.Halli, Shivani 1 each.

Maximum temperatures rose at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. They were above normal at many places, being appreciably so at a few places over Coastal Karnataka. however below normal at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Raichur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 40 degree celsius over the State.
