Anganwadi worker threatened for trying to prevent child marriage

Rajgarh, MP, Apr 20 (UNI) Three people, including two women, were arrested for ill-treating and threatening to kill an Anganwadi worker, who attempted to prevent child marriage at a village in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district.

Anganwadi worker Shanti Bai, who is posted at Kupa village, had complained that some people were trying to get a child marriage arranged.

Devi Singh, Krishna Bai and Basanti Bai ill-treated Shanta Bai over this matter and threatened to kill her on April 17.

The district administration had made strict vigil to check child marriages on the occasion of 'Akshaya Tritiya'.
