Amway India aims to reach Rs 1000 cr mark

Ahmedabad, Apr 20 (UNI) Amway India, the country's largest direct selling Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company, today announced its intention of becoming a Rs 1000 crore plus player in the immediate future.

Sankar Parmeshwaran, Director Legal and Corporate Affairs, Amway India, told mediapersons here that ''We have had an over 7-fold increase in the 8-years we have been in the Indian market.'' Mr Parmeshwaran said ''We attribute this growth to the top-class quality of Amway products as well as the consumer's confidence in brand Amway.'' He said with close to 80 products being sold across the country by Amway distributors, it is only a question of time before we breach the magical figure of Rs 1000 cr.

As a part of supply chain strategy Amway intends to ehance its reach and be present in every 200 km across the length and breadth of the country. With this objective in mind, the company has plans to open Amway offices in over 100 locations in next 12 months.

This penetration drive of reaching interior locations will not only facilitate Amway distributors but also enhance brand visibility. These offices will provide easy access to any information on the company, products and services, facilitate product purchasing, home deliveries, new inquiries and other such customer service related activities, he said.

In Gujarat, Amway India has four offices at Surat, Baroda, Ahmedabd and Rajkot. It has recently added three new offices to the list by opening offices in Bhavnagar, Jamnagar and Bharuch. Gujarat has been a focus area for the company and Amway has major plans for the state which includes opening of new offices and promotional activities, Mr Parmeshwaran added.
