UGSL, Liberty Commodities JV to build re-roller mill in Ghana

New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI) One of the largest manufacturers and exporters of galvanised steel, Uttam Galva Steels Ltd (UGSL) has entered into a joint venture (JV) with UK-based Liberty Commodities to build a new steel re-roller mill in Ghana.

The new facility, at the cost of 20 million dollars, is expected to be operational by the end of this year. The JV is a part of the expansion plans of the company.

Last week, UGSL became the first GDR to be listed to the Singapore Stock Exchange.

There will also be major capacity expansion and modernisation on the domestic front. Elaborating on the expansion plans, company Director (Commercial) Ankit Miglani said they were exploring both organic and inorganic routes to grow and enhance value for the stakeholders.

Uttam Galva is a major supplier to companies like Bajaj Auto, Mahindra and Mahindra, Kirloskar and Larsen&Toubro, etc, the company said in a statement.
