TDP neglected farmers during its tenure: AP CLP
Hyderabad, Apr 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today ridiculed Telugu Desam Party President Chandra Babu Naidu's decision to celebrate his birthday with farmers alleging that he had neglected farmers' problems during his nine-year rule in the state.
Government Chief whip N Kirankumar Reddy and Whips S Udaybhanu and D Sridharbabu today said in a statement that the previous TDP government had not taken up any irrigation project to help the farming community in the state.
They also alleged that the TDP leaders were obstructing the irrigation projects taken up by the state Government to help the farmers.
The Congress leaders charged that the TDP government was responsible for increasing the electricity charges for agricultural sector when the state was reeling under drought during its rule.
They alleged that the TDP government introduced anti-farmer policies and failed to provide minimum support price during the drought.
