Sleep disorders affect 30 per cent Males, 40 per cent females
Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) About 30 per cent of the male and 40 per cent of the female population suffer from sleep disorders and/or interrupted sleep.
People with a sleep deficit manifest the same behaviour as a car driver with an alcohol value of 1.0/1000 and almost 5 per cent of all car accidents are caused by second sleep (tiredness, insufficent or bad quality sleep), according to Gunther W Amann-Jennson, designer of the Royal Sleep System, and a renowned European Sleep psychologist.
Amann-Jennson was addressing the media yesterday at the launch of a unique bedding system in India called 'Sadhrta Samina Royal Sleep System', a joint venture between Sadhrta Retail Pvt Ltd and Samina Produktions-und Handels GmbH, a leading Austrian sleep system maker.
''Our focus from the outset has always been the human being and his/her health. Samina's company mission is to help as many people as possible achieve a better level of sleep, better health, more vital energy and personal success,'' said Amann-Jennson.
The concept of bio-energetic sleep was developed by Amann-Jennson between 1983-1988 after several years of study and practical experiences in the fields of health, construction, living and sleep biology, electrical biology, psychology, sleep medicine, orthopedics, bed climatology, natural material, vital energy research, naturopathy and bio-magnetic field therapies.
Samina was established in 1988 and the concept of ''health sleep'' was implemented. The World Health Organisation (WHO) includes sleep in addition to nutrition and movement ino their codex as third pillar for physical, mental and emotional health.
The Sadhrta-Samina systems, unavailable elsewhere in Asia, are priced at Rs 2,98,991 for a single bed and Rs 3,63,121 for a double bed and the king size at Rs 4,37,415.
