Seven hard core militants nabbed
Imphal, Apr 19 (UNI) At least seven hardcore cadres were apprehended by state police and troops in separate incidents during the past 24 hours.
Police said a random checking of people at different places was done today.
A large numbers of youths were detained and their antecedents verified.
Imphal East Superintendenyt of Police Kailun said two cadres of Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) were nabbed yesterday. Later, a cadre of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) was also nabbed. The two KRA men were identified as Ishorchand and Maibam.
The cadres confessed that they had extorted money from a school.
In another incident, a combined force of the Imphal West district police and 22 Maratha Light Infantry nabbed three people suspected to be members of the proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL).
In the meantime, 4 Assam Rifles troops nabbed a cadre of People's Liberation Army PLA cadre.
