Select metals fall on poor industrial demand

Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) Select metal prices fell on poor industrial demand while the London Metal exchange rose, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In the ferrous section, copper utensils declined by Rs 300 per quintal on increased offers by stockists while brass utensils hiked by Rs 400 per quintal, on lesser stock supply.

In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars eased by Rs 100 per quintal on lack of fresh demand.

Tin slab and nickel cathode drifted lower by Rs three and Rs 10 per kg respectively, on thin buying support.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 37,000, Copper utensils - Rs 33,500, Brass utensils - Rs 27,000, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 12,000.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,700, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,500, Zinc slab - Rs 19,500, Lead ingots - Rs 10,500, Tin slab - Rs 795 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,350 (per kg).
