Rupee opens steady at 41.91/93

Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) Amidst volatile trade at the Interbank foreign exchange (Forex) market, the Indian Rupee opened steady at 41.91/93 per US dollar, from its previous close of 42.01.

The market chose to take a breather, fearing that further provocation could bring in intervention from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), dealers explained.

It may be recalled here that Union Commerce Minister Kamal Nath had earlier said that stronger Rupee was hurting exports and that the issue was due for discussion with exporters next week.
