RPF arrested for cheating
Tirupati, Apr 19 (UNI) The east police have arrested one Railway Police Force (RPF) constable, who has cheated and collected an amount of Rs three lakh from a shop owner, offering him job in railways.
According to east police station Sub-Inspector Satyanatayana, the accused Ravi Kumar who had cheated the shop owner Anwar Basha, by promissing a clerical job in the railway, was sent for remand today.
Based on a complaint from Mr Anwar, police interrogated Mr Ravi and arrested him on the charges of cheating, the SI added.
According to RPF sources, the accused constable Mr Ravi Kumar, who was under sick leave since May 2006 joined duty in December 2006 and since January 2007 he again took leave due to heart problems.
He was still sick and the department had already stated that he was medically de-categorised (unfit for-RPF).
All his reports were sent to the concerned officials at Secunderabad for action, the sources added.
