ADC (General) B S Multani told mediapersons that Khaira and his supporters were creating hurdles in the lifting of wheat stock lying in the procurement centre for the past three days to protest against the issuance of wheat lifting tender to one Ranjit Singh, in the process ignoring the Truck Operators Union of Nadala. Mr Multani said he along with SDM, DSP and DM Marked tried to persuade Khaira and the transporters of Nadala not to create hurdles in the lifting of wheat stock but they did not relent and the administration decided to arrest them as the situation became tense in the mandi over this issue.
