Pondy Govt to protect fertile lands: CM

Puducherry, Apr 19 (UNI) The administration would take steps to protect fertile lands in the union territory, Chief Minister N Rangasamy told the State Assembly today.

To a question, Mr Rangasamy said if all members agreed, the administration would introduce a stipulation making it compulsory to obtain government permission not only for conversion of farm land into non-farm land and also fix the sale limit.
