NSCN-IM self-styled officer shot dead by rival group

Kohima, Apr 19 (UNI) Suspected NSCN (K) activists shot dead a sectional officer of its rival NSCN(IM) at Mokokchung in Nagaland yesterday, Official sources today. They said about six gunmen took away Maotoshi (34) blindfolded and shot him dead.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, an angry mob from Seluophe and neighbouring villages yesterday blocked the road that leads to NSCN-IM headquarters at Hebron Camp to protest killing of one youth and torturing of two others, allegedly by the NSCN(IM) cadres.

The mob led by Chakhroma Public Organisation refused to bury the body and placed the coffin in the middle of the road, demanding the NSCN(IM) authority to hand over the cadres responsible for the brutal murder.

The deceased, Vilasilie Angami (27) and two others were taken to NSCN (IM) camp where they were beater badly before being released.

However, Vilasilie died on his way home, while two others were rushed to Dimapur Civil hospital in a critical condition.
