New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI) Nissan Motor India Ltd (NMIPL) today rolled out its luxury sedan, Teana at a price of Rs 20.47 lakh (ex showroom, New Delhi) which will be fully imported in the country from its parent company in Japan.

This is the second car in India, which the company has launched after SUV X-Trail three years back, and the company plans to sell 600 units of both the vehicles this fiscal.

Teana is powered by a 2.3 litre VQ23DE petrol engine mated to a four speed automatic transmission.

''Our target sale this year will be around 600 units from both cars, 250 from SUV X-Trail and 350 units from Teana,'' NMIPL Managing Director Yoshie Motohiro told reporters here.

She said the company also has plans to set up more dealerships in the country, but not before 2009, ''as our main objective for now is the sales,'' and the company right now is studying the requirements according to Indian needs.

''Our objective for introducing Nissan Teana in the market is to bring in choice amongst Nissan vehicles for customers, provide value for money option in the luxury car segment in India and support profitability for dealers,'' NMIPL Director (Sales and Marketing) Neeraj Garg said.

The company last month announced its intention to set up a manufacturing facility in Chennai together with alliance partner Renault and Mahindra.

NMIPL has also plans to manufacture its products from this plant in future, but however, denied to comment anything as of now.
