NCP firm on demand for 10 seats in Goa assembly polls
Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) NCP General Secretary Tariq Anwar today said his party was firm on its decision to demand 10 seats from the Congress for the June 2 Goa assembly elections as part of the seat sharing adjustment between the two ruling coalition partners.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Anwar said NCP was eager for an electoral alliance with the Congress only if the party allots ten seats out of the total 40.
Mr Anwar lambasted the BJP whose MP from Gujarat Babubhai Katara was arrested yesterday in connection with human trafficking/impersonation. ''Such incidents as well as the previous cash for query scam, where six of the BJP MPs were shown accepting bribes, exposed the real face of the BJP,''he said.
