My role in not limited to UP alone : Rahul

Khairabad, Sitapur/ Bhariach, Apr 19 (UNI) After being among controversies for his recent remarks on the Babri Masjid demoloition and Bangladesh , Congress MP Rahul Gandhi today made a significant political statement saying his role was not limited to Uttar Pradesh alone.

''My role is not limited to Uttar Pradesh but I would not leave the state either,'' he said during his election meeting at Khairabad under Lahaarpur assmebly constituency in Sitapur district. He also assured the young turn out that he would continue to work for them even after the assembly polls, Focusing his today's campaign on the youths, he regretted their energies had not been utilised properly in the development of the state.

In this context, the young Congress MP expressed concern over dismal performance of the state in all spheres of development in UP urging for the support of his party to expedite the process of development and growth.

Seeking the support of younths in favour of the Congress for their better future, Amethi MP and star Congress campaigner Rahul Gandhi today charged the successive governments in Uttar Pradesh for denying them opportunity to become ' fuel' in the state's development.

Addressing an election meetings in Sitapur and Bahraich districts, Rahul said youths from UP were working in the sate like Punjab, Haryana, Maharastra and Karnatak and helping them in their development. ''.. Sadly they are not being used for the state's growth and progress,''he pointed out.

In his brief over 10 minutes speech, the Congress MP said it was unforunate that in UP successive governments in last 15 years have tied the hands of youths from developing the state. This was despite the fact that the youths represented 60 per cent of the population in the state, he said.

''Nearly 40 per cent of UP budget comes from the centre but it is unfortunate that it is not benefited the common people''. he said.

Without taking the name of Mulayam Singh Yadav, the Congress MP said the present UP government is mis-utilising the public fund meant for development. During the past 15 years not a single road constructed, hosdpital was established and no power generation was added by the successive governments.

Rahul selected the places of his meeting where muslim dominated the electoral scene.
