MP Cong urges Chief Justice to not attend conf

Indore, Apr 19 (UNI) The Congress' Madhya Pradesh unit has urged Supreme Court Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan to turn down an invitation for attending a former judges' two-day conference scheduled to begin here on April 21.

''The Organising Committee Vice-Chairman is Ms Asha Vijayvargiya while her husband and state Public Works Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya will be Chief Guest. Ms Vijayvargiya has never served as judge,'' said Congress spokesman K K Mishra.

He urged the Chief Justice to order a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry into the sources of the programme's funds.
