Modi Visits Osaka University

Gandhinagar, Apr 19 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, today visited Nano technology centre of the world famous Osaka University and took stock of its laboratory, research and development centre.

In his meeting with theofficials of the University and Nano technology technicians, Mr Modi expressed his government's resolve to take Gujarat to new heights in the Nano technology sector. Nirma Group president, Karsanbhai Patel, also expressed his desire to work for the development of Nano technology in Gujarat.

On the fifth day of his visit to Japan, the Chief Minister went to Ottoman Gakuin University in Tokyo and met its president, Takashi Suzuki, and officials.

Commending his government's efforts in relief and rehabilitation work after 2001 earthquake in Gujarat, Mr Modi urged Mr Suzuki to take it as his university's research subject. He also urged the university president to send more Japanese students to Gujarat under the student exchange programme.

When Mr Modi's delegation reached Kobe Osaka by bullet train, he was greeted by Gujarati Diaspora of Japan. The Gujarati community, residing in Japan, praised Mr Modi's leadership in putting Gujarat on the international map.
