Minister's statement 'false and deceitful': Mani
Kochi, Apr 19 (UNI) Kerala Congress (M) leader K M Mani today termed the Education Minister M A Baby's reaction to the National Commission for granting minority status to Pushpagiri Institutions as 'false and deceitful'.
Speaking to newspersons here today, Mani said the Commission had every right to grant minority status to the Institution.
He also condemned the reported statement of the education minister on the decision of the Commission was an infringment to the rights of the state government.
The Commision yesterday granted minority status to Pushpagiri Medical College in Tiruvalla and four other institutions under its management.
Mr Mani alleged that the education system in the state was in doldrums because of the anti-constitutional outlook of the Left Democratic Front Government.
Referring to the state government's jubilee celebrations of the EMS Namboothiripad, the first Communist government of 1957, Mr Mani said ''there is no need to have such an extravaganza as the state had celebrated 50 years of its formation.'' UNI
