Major reshuffle in Andaman Administration

Port Blair, Apr 19 (UNI) Andaman and Nicobar government has effected a major reshuffle in the ranks of IAS to streamline the islands' administration, official sources said today.

An official notice said Chief Secretary C Targay was given charge of Home, PWD, Vigilance, and other departments not allocated so far.

Commissioner-cum-Secretary Dharam Pal of Health department was now shifted to election department as Chief Electoral Officer.

Former CEO P K Gupta was entrusted with Excise, Personnel, Shipping, Port Management with immeidate effect.

Commissioner-cum-Secretary Arvind Ray will look after Education (Higher), Transport, Technical Education, Housing&Estate, Official Language, Industries, Khadi&Village Industries.

Development Commissioner Janak will look after Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Agriculture.

Secretary G D Badgaiyan will oversee Finance, Planning, Information Technology, AdministrativeReforms&Training, Local Self Govt and Rural Development.

Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman) K S Singh will now take care of Revenue, Youth Affairs, Sports&Culture, Wakf Board, Disaster Management in the capacity of a Secretary.
