Lightning claims 2 lives

Chhindwara(MP), Apr 19 (UNI) At least two people were killed and six others, including two children, were injured as lightning struck yesterday at two places in Chhindwara district, police said.

Police said Ms Makhania Bai (65) was killed and four women injured when lightning struck a house at Mandangarh village near Amarwada. Ten-year-old Tikaram was killed and two children injured as lightning struck them at Gadepali village near Bichhua. The children were playing in the open.

Chhindwara town and adjoining areas were lashed by light rains.
