Bahraich, Apr 19 (UNI) Inveighing the Mulayam Singh Yadav regime in Uttar Pradesh, Railway Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad today asserted that the time has come when leaders, who misused the development funds provided by the Centre to UP, ought to be jailed.

''Congress-led UPA government at the Centre never meted out step-motherly treatment with UP as Mulayam alleges. But sadly, the funds were either misused or not used at all,'' Mr Yadav mantained while addressing an election meeting here.

''The time has come when those who misused the development funds should be jailed,'' Mr Yadav added.

The former Bihar CM observed ''conscience is the chamber of justice and as long as Mulayam's conscience is sleeping, UP cannot be developed. Happily, people have realised his true face and the same would reflect in the ongoing assembly poll results.'' Terming BJP as a 'puppet' of RSS, the Minister asserted the party will never succeed in spreading communalism by circulating the ''objectionable CD.'' ''All BJP efforts will come a cropper as the Ganga-Jamuni culture of the country will not let that happen.'' The RJD chief alleged ''BJP always ditches people. It is a political humbug...it can do anything for power. When election comes, it does not mind exploiting the name of Lord Ram for wooing Hindus.'' ''I as a Railways Minister took railways to zenith. Even American and German officials take my advice. That is the reason why the opposition is unnecessarily training guns at me and seeing my achievements through a jaundiced eye,'' he claimed.
