Jammu, Apr 19: Valley-based G K Communications Pvt Ltd today launched the second edition of its Urdu Daily 'Kashmir Uzma' from this winter capital city of Jammu and Kashmir.

G K Communications, publishers at english daily newspaper 'The Greater Kashmir' and its sister concern 'Kashmir Uzma' from Srinagar, is the only news organisation having its bureau office at Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

"With (Kashmir) Uzma we have launched state's first multi-edition Urdu daily, which would cater to the vast spreads of urdu readership in the region, particularly Doda, Rajouri and Poonch districts," Riyaz Masroor, G K Communications' Editor (News Operations) said.

Kashmir Uzma would remain a complete newspaper, giving coverage to all types of news. "However, the developmental issues of the state will be given priority," Mr Masroor asserted.

Initally started with eight pages edition, there are plans to increase the number of pages. "we have plans to increase the pages of (Kashmir) Uzma to 12 shortly. We are also thinking on lines to make it a 24-page-daily by 2008,'' Mr Masroor added.
