J'khand signs MoU for 'Janani'

Ranchi, Apr 19 (UNI) The Jharkhand government today signed an MoU with Surya Clinic for proper implementation of 'Janani' programme, which promotes institutional delivery.

State's Health Minister Bhanu Pratap Shahi said the programme 'Janani Suraksha Yojna' has been initiated in Jharkhand under National Rural Health Programme emphasising institutional deliveries.

Mr Shahi said promotional monetary assistance would be given to each pregnant woman, addding a sum of Rs 100 for vaccination, Rs 700 after delivery and Rs 100 for three time vaccination of infant.

The health minister said the monetary benefit would also be given to Aanganbari workers and ANMs involved in the programme.
