CPI (Maoist) surrenders before police

Karimnagar, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 19 (UNI) CPI (Maoist) district committee member Gasikanti Rajamouli alias Shekar surrendered before the District Superintendent of Police Y Gangaghar here today.

In a statement, Mr Gangaghar said the surrendered Maoist had joined the party in 1991 and was later shifted to Bangalore as den keeper and courier for CPI (ML) Peoples War Group.

He was promoted as District Committee Member in 2003 and shifted to Vijayawada to courier for Andhra Pradesh State Committee Secretary R K alias Ramakrishna, he added.
