CPI for thorough probe into Katara scandal
New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI) The CPI today demanded a thorough investigation to probe the case of cheating and forgery involving the suspended BJP MP Babu Bhai Katara who was caught allegedly trying to smuggle out a woman and her son to Toronto.
"There should not only be a probe in the case of forgery and cheating, but also the aspect of human trafficking," CPI National Secretary Shamim Faizi said.
The CPI leader alleged that the episode had exposed the "asli chehra, chaal and charitra (true face, behavior and character) of the BJP.
Apart from this episode, earlier as many as 11 MPs had been expelled, majority of whom belonged to the BJP, Mr Faizi said.
