CII delegation calls on YSR
Hyderabad, Apr 19 (UNI) The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today apprised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy of its future activities in the state and the southern region.
Comprising CII Southern Region Deputy Chairman B V R Mohan Reddy, CII (AP) Chairman Pradeep Dhobale and CII (AP) Vice-Chairman Utpal Sen Gupta among others, the delegation gave a briefing to Dr Reddy on the new initiatives taken by it including Rural Business Hub, Skill Development, HIV/AIDS Sensitisation and SME Cluster, according to a release here.
The Chief Minister said there should be more emphasis on development of food processing and textile industy in the state, saying the strategic location, demography and the natural resources of the state were a major attraction for investment.
Dr Reddy assured them of his government's assistance in making their ventures a success. He emphasised that Andhra Pradesh was one of the leading states in the country to attract investment in various sectors.
He congratulated CII for the proactive role it played over the years and extended full support for all its future initiatives.
Mr Dhobale stressed on the skill development initiative of the CII and said it was a major step towards gainful employment of youth in Andhra Pradesh.
He requested the Chief Minister to provide impetus in propagating the initiative across the state.
