Black bucks die after being injured by stray dogs
Hubli, Apr 19 (UNI) Three more black bucks (Krishnamriga) injured by stray dogs in the BinkadaKatte zoo, Gadag district, died yesterday taking the toll to 14.
Chief Conservator of Forests Shivanna, who visited the zoo yesterday, suspected that there was a possibility of involvement of zoo personnel in the incident.
Expressing concern over the death of rare animals in the zoo, he said such a thing was impossible without the connivance of the zoo personnel.
Mr Shivanna said it was local street dogs that mauled the black bucks and not the wild dogs as reported earlier. Wild dogs were in Bandipur forest area and not in Kappadgudda forest of Gadag district, he added.
