BJP preparing for general elections: L Ganesan

Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Apr 19 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already started poll preparations for the next general elections, its Tamil Nadu President L Ganesan today said.

Speaking to reporters here after a district office-bearers meeting, Mr Ganesan said the party had already selected ten functionaries in Tamil Nadu for poll-preparation work as the state was expected to play an important role in the formation of the next government.

Support for the BJP was also increasing in the country due to spiralling rise in the prices of essential commodities, he claimed even as he predicted a victory for the party in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

''Our victory is for sure. The real battle is between the BJP and the BSP,'' he said and added there was unnecessary focus on the CD issue.
