Bihar govt to set up dairy processing plant in Nalanda

Patna, Apr 19 (UNI) The Bihar government today decided to set up dairy processing plant and milk powder unit at Biharsharif in Nalanda district.

'' A decision to this effect was taken by the state cabinet,'' cabinet coordination department secretary Girish Shankar said.

He said state government had also sanctioned Rs 120.96 crores for setting up these units.

The cabinet also decided to sanction Rs 49.90 crores for construction of administrative training institute in Gaya, he said adding Rs 10 crores would be spent during the current fiscal.

Mr Shankar said the cabinet had approved Rs 10 lakhs to pay as compensation to the dependents of the homeguards, who lost their lives in encounter with criminals on duty.

'' Cabinet gave its nod for issuance of notification on April 27 for the local bodies election,'' he added.

Besides, the state cabinet changed the rules for registration of contractors and sanctioned Rs 4.40 crores for purchase of machineries to be used in road constructions.
