Another inter-religion wedding in MP
Bhopal, Apr 19 (UNI) A city-resident young couple, who belong to different faiths and left their homes after tying the knot recently, have returned after a visit to Jammu and Kashmir and decided not to live together ''for the time being'' even as they try to obtain their guardians' consent.
''After getting married in the last week of March according to Arya Samaj traditions, Rehan and Neetu Jodhwani went missing from their homes on April 9. Neetu's family lodged a police complaint.
Rehan allegedly converted and became 'Rohan'. The duo travelled via Delhi,'' said Govindpura Police Station House Officer Rajkumar Sharma.
Meanwhile, Rehan asked for money from a friend and the police got wind of it. A team was rushed to Delhi and returned yesterday with the duo.
As this case came up amidst the hullabaloo here over the Priyanka-Umar wedding, police initially maintained secrecy. Extreme reactions emerged from both Sindhi and Muslim organisations over the Umar-Priyanka marriage. They ran away from their homes to tie the knot in Mumbai where they are believed to be residing.
The high courts of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh directed Bhopal Police to provide security to Priyanka, Umar and their families.
